Most, if not all Americans have been exposed to this sport, either directly by trying to be a “skater”, or indirectly through the numerous skate-related games on the market today. Some see this sport as a menace to society, as a way for vandalism to be legally acted out. Others say it’s merely a harmless sport. How do you feel?

What damage is truly caused by skateboarding? To the rider’s many injuries can arise from simply landing an ollie wrong and falling to the ground. But that’s their own responsibility, if they get hurt, it’s their fault. My point of this paragraph however is this, the property of others around them. What damage is caused? I have only oberved minor (in MY mind) damage caused by skating. Mainly scratched poles from grinding, and skid marks from powerslides. I for one feel skateboarding causes little to no dsamage to public property. It is NOT vandalism.

However, Riders, if they are not cautious, can injure other people or vehicles around them. Moreover, that would only be irresponsible Riders. Any sport has the potential to damage property, baseball and windows, football and a lot of things, skating however, is relatively harmles when compared to these.

In Conclusion, I feel that Skateboarding should not be considered an act of vandalism. I feel that it should be accepted and praised as a sport, for the diffcluty is far greater then one might assume.

Some places it is even considered a crime to skateboard.

Anyways.... In my opinion, it's NOT vandelism and it shouldn't be a crime.
I've even read where brothers has gotten arrest on campus at a college just for havin' a skateboard.

I just wanna know what everone elses opinion is.

Do u think it's a crime or just a harmless sport?
